A lot of people are talking about how all these kids are on disposables and certain members from the Vape Industry are also targeting stores. But the truth is that the disposables are easily available online, on Amazon and not just in stores. The whole argument about kids vaping more is being discussed a lot and the recycling part. If we were to look at the amount of vapes that were actually thrown away, I’m sure other sectorssuch as the food packaging, the one time salt and pepper sachets at McDonalds, and our waste from our day to living should also be talked about. Only recently in the last 5 years have companies started to change their packaging as consumers realised the effect Mother Earth us facing.
I believe we all collectively are focusing on the wrong topics and should actually highlight the positives of vaping and talk about the people that have quit smoking and are now not gasping for breath climbing stairs. This is an opinion shared by many vapers now. How about the fact that the vaping sector saved the UK £322 million in smoking related healthcare costs in 2019. If 50% of smokers switched to vaping, the potential healthcare savings would have been £698 million in 2020. Not many sectors can say this with the short amount of time vaping has been around.
Personally as a store owner I have found that if it wasn’t for the pandemic more people would have been vaping as buying your first vape can be pretty daunting. There is so much out there, and so much choice of juice and also some very rubbish liquid out there. So why don’t we shift the focus back on stores selling good liquid, good hardware brands, and giving them the help they need to make the switch. In my opinion disposables aren’t that bad, as I have seen the sales fall slowly and people switch over. This is just a more efficient way for people to start vaping.
